Earlier, Connexity played Santa and got you a present: a special Advent calendar for Christmas.
So now, you know when to launch your campaigns… but maybe you wouldn’t be against a few tips to make them even better? You’re in luck, because we just happen to have some of these in our sack.
Tip 1: Know where your audience is coming from.
One of the ways to optimise your Christmas campaigns is to know exactly how your audience got here. If you know where the audience is coming from, then you know where to find them and how to interact with them.
As usual, you can see that search was the biggest driver of trafic, with 44% of the referred traffic in December last year. In other words, you want to make sure that your brand / your ads are referenced in the best possible way.
If you look into this trend more closely, you will also see a rising tendency of multi-tab browsing within the online purchase journey, as a big proportion of the traffic is generated by other vendors whilst buyers browse their favourite websites.
Tip number 2: know what promotions the customers want
When they are thinking of buying something, customers often go on the hunt for special offers in order to reduce the amount of their order.
Amongst all the techniques they deploy, these are the most popular strategies:
-look for vouchers on the retailer’s website;
-sign up for retailers email;
-use search engines;
-visit a voucher code website;
-use a voucher code gathering app;
-use a voucher code gathering browser;
-sign up for vouchers or discount newsletter;
-put items in the shopping cart and then leave;
-search retailer’s social media presence.
Now, you might ask: what kind of offers are they actually looking for? Well, most of the time, they are after discounts on a specific item or a group of items. Other than this, they are mainly interested in:
-a discount on their total purchase;
-free shipping with a minimum spend;
-a gift/a discount;
-multiple item discount (such as BOGOF).
Now that you know where customers go to find discounts and which sort of offers they are hoping to find… the only thing you need to do is to put your Santa outfit on and make their wishes come true. Oh, and you can also download our ebook to find more ways to optimise your Christmas campaigns.
